Celebrating my geekness
Before I became a mother I had read very few ebooks. But they have several distinct advantages (most of which relate to reading during the wee hours of the night) for new moms which quickly overcame my reluctance to read in that format.
All that being said, I’m still not quite ready to buy an actual ereader device yet. For now my iPod is more than adequate. I’ve enjoyed the ebook experience so much these past few months that I think I’m more likely to purchase and read ebooks than I am paperbacks or hardcovers.
What are your thoughts, opinions, or counterpoints on ebooks? Do you still prefer physical media?

While I’m not an e-book convert myself, finding places to store physical books in our house has become burdensome. We’ve shed several hundred books in the past year and it still feels like we don’t have enough book storage. So, in that regard, e-books get a thumbs up.

I’ve never read an e-book myself, but I have to admit there are definitely advantages to e-books. I still love the feel of a book in my hand, but there are times when carrying and holding a book are impractical. I don’t think I could read e-books on my iPod though – it’s too small for me to really enjoy the experience of reading!

I thought so too, but since my alternative was not reading at all, I got over the screen size really quickly! I don’t really miss the feel of a book either. Though I guess I still do read some physical books still. Wonder how that will change in the next decade or so?
