Tyskland, Dwarven Republic

Posted by: Zero   in

Official languages: Dwarven, gnomish

Leadership: Consul Bismark, Consul Haraim, the Dwarven Senate

Overview: The Republic is a newly established political entity, formed in 1830 when Bismark unified the warring Dwarven tribes. The Republic is governed by an elected senate, guided by two Consuls, both appointed by the Senate. Proconsuls elected from the senate oversee the affairs of affiliated provinces.

Military organization: The military is organized by legions. A legion is divided into 10 cohorts, further devided into 6 Centuries of 85 soldiers, including administration. Standard issue is a long-barrel musket, maulaxe, tower shield, and breastplate.

Dwarven military units are highly self-sufficient on the move, carrying with them all supplies necessary to establish fortifications behind enemy lines.

A Century may be accompanied by an Equestrian unit, usually Gnomish druids, that provide magical assistance.

Special forces: During the Great War, elite forces stationed in Luxemborg were subjected to experimental elven bombs. The survivors developed an affliction known as lycanthropy. The affliction resulted in unnatural strength and resiliency. Dubbed ‘the menagerie’ subjects are suspected of transmorphogenic capabilities. Recruitment by the menagerie is ongoing and considered the highest honour a dwarven soldier can receive.

Intelligence: Unknown

Factoid: Since the Great War the spread of Moradin has been rapid through-out the eastern continent, but nowhere more so than Tyskland. Moradin’s Readers were crucial in breaking the Undying elven soldiers and the Dwarven populace feels a debt of gratitude to the Church, even offering up estates in Tyskland when the Citadel of Moradin was overrun in Khurgorbaeyag. Moradin is rapidly displacing Druidism as the major religion of Tyskland.
