Nomog-Geaya, Dwarven Republic

Posted by: Zero   in

Official languages: Goblin, Dwarven

Leadership: Senator Galtai, Senate council, Proconsul Norgrim

Overview: The hobgoblin tribes of the Nomog-Geaya province were conquered by the newly formed Dwarven legions in 1840. Instead of occupying the territory, the dwarves assisted the hobgoblins in rebuilding their ravaged country under strong, unified leadership. Hobgoblins are great admirers of the Dwarves and patterned their government and military on the dwarven model, to great success. After centuries of infighting, the hobgoblins have emerged as a major world power.

Military organization: The military is organized by legions. A legion is divided into 10 cohorts, further devided into 6 Centuries of 85 soldiers, including administration.

Standard issue is a longsword, longbow, light shield, and studded leather armour.

Hobgoblin Centuries are highly-disciplined forces that favour hit and run tactics to capitalize upon their stealth and mobility.

Hobgoblins engineers and alchemists are among the most talented in the world. Hobgoblin forces routinely make excellent use of mundane siege equipment in larger or protracted engagements.

Special forces: The Soldiers of the Last Order are a group of exceptionally disciplined soldiers. The Last Order is frequently used as shock troops where ever combat is the heaviest or most brutal.

Intelligence: The Shadowguards are the advanced scouts of the hobgoblin legions. Their skill at avoiding detection borders is almost mythical. While primarily used for reconnaisance, there are several suspected incidents where the Shadowguard were used as assassins and saboteurs during the great war. Concrete proof has remained elusive.

Factoid: The hobgoblins have a long history of bloody conflicts with their cousins, the goblins of Khurgorbaeyag.
